Anzoa Irene, 13 Years

ANZOA IRENE 13 Years, Primary Six, her dream is to study Midwifery course after finishing Senior Four, so I can reduce rates of labor induction and augmentation, decreased risk of needing a cesarean, reduced use of regional anesthesia, decreased infant mortality rates, decreased risk of preterm birth, decreased third- and fourth-degree perineal tears and lower costs for both clients and insurers. I want to work with women, and their families, during moments of profound transition and change, and assist in the process. I want to learn and practice new skills. I want to empower women to make choices about their bodies that bring them health, confidence, and strength. I would be privileged to become a midwife. To have this as my career would be so good for me. Irene is a pupil from Adjumani District, Uganda. She needs $376 for the year 2023 to stay in School.

Mandera Bridget, 8 years

Bridget 9 years, primary four. She lives with her mother, two brothers and their grandmother in Adjumani District. Bridget lost her father to low blood pressure last April 2020. Bridget hopes that she will be able to continue her education into a good career, but she is not sure yet of whether she will step back to a classroom any more. Her father use to be the District Agriculture Officer and her mother is a housewife which has made things to be too difficult at their House. She said food which they use to eat twice is no more. We now only eat food once a day and at times sleep without. Bridget wants to study Agriculture Sciences which she said inspired much. Bridget is a Pupil from Adjumani and she only needs $376 for the year 2023 to stay in School.

Edward Chandiga, 15 years

Edward Chandiga was born in odu village of Itirikwa Sub-County, Adjumani District. where he lived with his parents. He is a brave boy who likes to study, and play with his friends. Edward and his brother were studying in secondary school. Edward’s father died of a short illness on June 2019 when he was in senior three. His father used to be a teacher and it got he was 14 years old which has affected his studies. His mother is a housewife and what she earns from the sale of farm produces is not enough to sustain their day-to-day life. Edward’s preferred subjects at school are sciences and he wants to become a Physic teacher. During 2020 to 2021, due to COVID 19, Edward had to study online from home but he could not afford the internet charges. Edward is a student from Uganda. He needs $578 for the year 2023 to stay in School.

Anyanzo Bernard, 10 Years

Bernard Anyanzo’s performance was very good in primary school and was ranked number 2 in his class every term in 2022. However. With ten children to take care of after the death of his father on April 2020 due to low blood pressure, his family struggles to make ends meet. There are very few resources at home and they often do not have enough food to feed their children. Bernard’s older siblings had no opportunity to go to secondary school. He hopes this will not happen to him so that he will be able to study and graduate in Public Health so that he can support his family and his community. Bernard was in primary four when schools were closed in march 2020 due to COVID 19 pandemic in Uganda. Bernard is a Pupil from Uganda. He needs $376 for the year 2023 to stay in School.

Evaline Sayo, 12 years

Evaline Sayo was raised by the father after the death of their mother in 2018. She was the family’s breadwinner and this proved very difficult for us. In nursery school. I was supported by well-wishers and they were not able to extend the help beyond that level. I dream of being a doctor and help people in my community. When schools were closed in March 2020 by Ugandan government due to Covid 19 pandemic, it got I was in primary three. I don’t know whether I will go back to school any more. Evaline needs $376 for the year 2023 to stay in School.

Kotura Denish, 17 years

Kotura Denish is the second born child in the family of Five. His elder brother dropped out of school due to lack of school fees. Since the passing on of their father on October 2019. Denish and his siblings have been staying with their mother who has taken over the responsibilities of providing for her children. His father passes on when he was in Senior three and always performs better in science subjects which he preferred so much. Denish in future dreams of becoming a doctor, so as to help his family and the entire society where he lives. He enjoys playing football with friends at the school and at community centre during holidays. During 2020 to 2021, due to COVID 19, Denish had to study online from home but he could not afford the internet charges. Denish is a student from Uganda. He needs $578 for the year,2023 to stay in School.

Doreen Angua, 14 years

A quiet leader, Doreen Agua is initially shy but often steps up to take the initiative and motivate her peers. She is curious and calm, and her determination to continue her education is unwavering. Doreen is a natural athlete, and most enjoys playing netball and Music dance and drama. To support their Seven children, Doreen’s father works as a primary school teacher and her mother is a housewife. Doreen is in Primary Six, and Doreen needs $376 to remain in School in 2023 and continue with her path to education.

Jacky Edea, 13 years

Jacky Edea lives with her mother, her father has two wives and their many children. Jacky is the six child to the family. Jacky’s parents are farmers and support their families with their small subsistence farm and a few animals. Jacky’s farther also takes small jobs for extra money, such as driving a taxi motorbike. Jacky is a bright child in class and because of that she is elected class monitor for primary four. She loves sharing with her agemates the little the mother gives to her. Jacky only needs $376 to continue with her education in 2023.

Quiet and curious, Juliet Mandera enjoys exploring interests in English and Social Studies class with a steadfast determination. As the third child in her family, Juliet serves as a stellar example to her younger siblings. She can often be found studying with her friends, and she hopes to become a member of parliament and help build more durable homes in her community after graduation. Juliet is in primary five, and she only needs $376 to make her dreams comes true in the year 2023.

Shy but energetic, Farida Ekuo is determined to continue her studies. to become a nurse after her graduation in future. She is in primary four. She loves maths and science subjects in class. Farida is the fifth child in the family, and her parents are farmers who have no other sources of income apart of the sale of their produce, and for her to achieve her dream she needs $376 to complete the year 2023 in school.

Hellen Kareo excelled in primary school and was ranked number three in her class. However, with six children to take care of, her family struggles to make ends meet. Since none of Hellen’s older siblings had the opportunity to go to secondary school, she hopes to be the first in her family to graduate so that she can give back to her family and her community.
